Smarkusky is a Presidential Scholar pursuing a dual degree in political science and integrated social studies with a minor in law & philosophy at Florida State University. Before joining Reason, Smarkusky interned in the legislative and judicial branches; she also conducted research at Florida State University about political polarization. Smarkusky is an aspiring law student and hopes to focus her career on constitutional and criminal justice law.
