James E. Moore, II, Ph.D., is a senior fellow at Reason Foundation.
Moore is also an Emeritus Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Public Policy and Management, and Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Southern California.
Moore specializes in transportation engineering and policy, urban transportation systems, and economic impact analysis.
Prior to joining USC, he served on the faculty of Northwestern University.
At USC, he served as chair of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, founding director of the Transportation Engineering program in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and as vice dean for Academic Programs in the School of Engineering.
He has served as president of the Transportation Science and Logistics Society and president of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.
Moore received his B.S. degrees in industrial engineering and urban planning and his Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from Northwestern University. He received his M.S. degree in industrial engineering and his Ph.D. degree in civil engineering from Stanford University.
