About the Role
Reason is seeking a full-time Designer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on design content for digital media, contributing to our publication’s visual storytelling. You will create compelling designs for our website and social media platforms, while supporting our video department with thumbnail designs. This includes working closely with senior designers and the video team to deliver high-quality visual content across multiple platforms.
We’re looking for someone highly motivated and self-driven who has a solid understanding of visual and digital design principles. Hands-on experience in graphic design and motion graphics is ideal. Familiarity with Reason’s editorial work is a plus. This is a remote position that’s part of Reason’s Fellowship Program and will report to Creative Art Director Adani Samat.

The fellowship is a year-long, full-time, paid position with benefits and a great opportunity for entry-level or early-career talent. The experience will give you a chance to explore and promote the principles of individual liberty, free markets, and the rule of law while building your resume and learning from seasoned professionals who share your passion for free minds and free markets. Past fellows have remained with Reason in a permanent capacity or moved on to other opportunities in our network.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging designs for web content
- Design thumbnails, social media content, and graphics for our website and social media platforms
- Maintain brand consistency across all platforms
- Support the art director and art editor when required
- Collaborate with the digital magazine team
Qualifications
- Experience in design, graphic design, or a related field
- Experience with motion graphics and animation
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
- Understanding of typography, layout, and visual design principles
- Understanding of digital design principles
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with members of the team
- An understanding of Reason’s mission and an appreciation for the libertarian worldview are a plus
