She’s been described as “edgy” and “irreverent,” and The Hill called her “…undoubtedly a talented and engaging on-air personality.” Politico wrote, “Her opinions are often contrarian and thought-provoking, even if you don’t always agree with them.”
Join us for the next Reason Speakeasy on Wednesday, September 11 for a great conversation with comedian, commentator, and bestselling author Kat Timpf, who’ll be talking about her new book I Used To Like You Until…(How Binary Thinking Divides Us). The Reason Speakeasy is a monthly, unscripted conversation with outspoken defenders of free thinking and heterodoxy. It doubles as a live taping of The Reason Interview with Nick Gillespie.
Kat is a longtime friend of Reason, proving her libertarian bona fides on FoxNews’ late night program Gutfeld. I Used To Like You Until… tackles the issue of binary thinking and tribalism head-on, with Kat’s personal stories illustrating how oversimplified perspectives are a direct threat to our political discourse, institutions, relationships, creativity, and even individual freedoms. She turned her last book You Can’t Joke About That: Why Everything is Funny, Nothing is Sacred, and We’re All in This Together, into a live comedy show that sold out in theaters all around the country. Now, with her trademark humor and sharp critical skills, she’s using her national platform to show how thoughtful consideration and genuine conversation can bridge divides and make meaningful connections.
We’ll meet at the Blue Building, located at 222 E. 46th St., between 2nd and 3rd Avenues in Midtown. Doors open at 7.30 p.m. and the interview itself will start at 8.30 p.m. Note later-than-usual start time! Tickets for the evening and Q&A with Kat are $15 and include a buffet of light bites and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
