September 23 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Los Angeles
You’re invited to “Everyday Abundance,” an upcoming panel and discussion featuring former Reason editor in chief Virginia Postrel and sponsored by LA New Liberals, YIMBY LA, and the Abundance Institute.
Housing costs in Los Angeles are higher than nearly every other city in America, and draconian regulatory policies keep the housing supply low. But what would happen if there was an abundant choice of homes in the City of Angels? What would that mean for human advancement and freedom?
Virginia’s 1998 book The Future and Its Enemies set forth an optimistic vision of how decentralized experimentation could lead to a brighter future for all, and her thoughts about urban life today will set the stage for a world defined by prosperity, freedom, and choice. Also on the panel will be Oren Hadar, author of The Future Is LA.
Please join Virginia and Oren for an evening exploring how scholars, storytellers, and activists can make the future not merely less frightening, but downright exciting.
