Andrew Abbott is a quantitative analyst with Reason Foundation’s Pension Integrity Project.
Prior to joining Reason, Abbott worked as a compliance analyst in the financial services industry, as an actuarial analyst, and as a teacher. He is also a Koch Associate Program alumni from the Charles Koch Foundation.
Abbott holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science from Texas Christian University, a Master of Arts in economics from the University of Houston, and a Master of Science in data science from Southern Methodist University.
Abbott is based in Dallas.
The changes are significant and positive steps for PERA, but leave some systemic challenges—namely actuarial methods and assumptions—unaddressed.
