More than 700 advocates of liberty from across Latin America and the United States gathered in Buenos Aires September 1–2 for Winds of Change/Vientos de Cambio, a two-day conference focused on the free market ideas that are reshaping the region’s future. Co-hosted by Reason Foundation, Fundación Libertad y Progreso, and Archbridge Institute, the conference provided a forum for sharing ideas, examining reforms, and building the relationships that are advancing economic change and individual freedom across the Americas.
Speakers from Argentina included President Javier Milei, Minister of Deregulation Federico Sturzenegger, Minister of Economy Luis Caputo, and Deputy Minister of Economy José Luis Daza. The lineup also included Nobel Prize-winning economist James Heckman, Fox Business News anchor Kennedy, former Federal Reserve Governor Randall Kroszner, Reason editor at large Nick Gillespie, Reason Foundation Research Director Geoffrey Lawrence, and other influential voices who spoke in favor of liberalizing trade, encouraging international investment, and allowing markets to flourish.
