About Reason
Reason advances a free society by developing, applying, and promoting libertarian principles, including individual liberty, free markets, and the rule of law. We use journalism and public policy research to influence the frameworks and actions of policymakers, journalists, and opinion leaders.
Reason magazine is the monthly print magazine of “free minds and free markets.” Founded in 1968, the magazine covers politics, culture, and ideas through a provocative mix of news, analysis, commentary, and reviews. Reason and Reason.com provide a refreshing alternative to right-wing and left-wing outlets by making a principled case for liberty and individual choice in all areas of human activity.
About the Internship
Put your skills to work at Reason, the world’s most popular libertarian platform! This 10-week long experience will give you the chance to explore and promote the principles of individual liberty, free markets, and the rule of law while building your resume and learning from seasoned professionals who share your passion for free minds and free markets.
The journalism internship includes reporting and writing as well as helping with research, proofreading, and other tasks. Excellent writing skills and some experience in journalism is required. This role is located in Reason’s Washington, DC office and reports to the Deputy Managing Editor, Jeff Luse. Previous interns have gone on to work at such places as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Politico, ABC News, and Reason itself.
