The FTA recently announced its rail funding winners and losers. Deciding who’s a winner and who’s a loser depends on your opinion of rail transit. Who got the dough? Lots of places already secured funding, but new to the group are: New York, Charlotte, Pittsburg, and Phoenix. Projects were rejected in such places as Las Vegas, Tampa and Santa Clara, California. That last one must have been especially awful because it would have linked downtown San Jose with the Mineta International Airport.
