Gov. Mark Sanford is following through on his pledge to privatize services and cut the fat. The state released an RFP today for the operation of one of the state’s golf courses and clubhouses – a second is likely to follow soon. Earlier this month, a tackle shop at a state park was also privatized – while not a big contract it is expected to net the state $20,000 a year. In addition, South Carolina is in the process of privatizing and centralizing its cabin and campground reservation system.
