Matthew McCaffrey
Matthew McCaffrey is a Ph.D. economist and associate professor of entrepreneurship at the Alliance Manchester Business School at the University of Manchester. His research focuses on economics, entrepreneurship, and innovation, in addition to institutional and policy analysis.
He is the author or editor of six books and dozens of peer-reviewed articles. He is also the author of a wide range of works on video games and on the gaming industry, including the edited volume The Invisible Hand in Virtual Worlds: The Economic Order of Video Games (Cambridge University Press, 2021), as well as numerous peer-reviewed articles, reviews, and commentaries. This research covers the theory and practice of gaming across several disciplines, including economics, business, psychology, and public policy.
