Washington DC Reporter

Reason.com, the leading libertarian news and commentary website with over 3 million monthly visits, is looking for a libertarian political junkie to cover Capitol Hill and beyond.

The reporter would be responsible for covering the actions and words of “Liberty Movement” politicians on Capitol Hill, and important political news of the day, especially issues of particular interest to libertarians, such as Obamacare, federal spending, debt, war, civil liberties, criminal justice reform, the drug war, elections, etc.

The ideal candidate is a voracious consumer of political and policy news, and determined to be the first to break important stories.

The reporter will be expected to file regular blog posts and columns. Success will be measured by quality/quantity of output and traffic, external impact, and other metrics. The reporter will work out of Reason’s Washington D.C. office. Emphasis will be on breaking news and contributing timely reporting more than opinion-slinging and political prescriptions.

Candidates at all levels of experience are invited to apply. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
