We are seeking a dynamic Events Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in organizing and executing events in the NYC area and beyond, fostering connections with Reason supporters and friends. If you are passionate about our mission and have a knack for event planning, we want to hear from you. You will be responsible for managing all logistics related to two regularly scheduled gatherings held in New York City every month, in addition to other special events. This includes location planning, talent management, guest list coordination, venue selection, catering, and on-site event attendance. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the success of our events and engaging our supporters. The position may be part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate’s availability and qualifications.
Event Planning and Execution:
- Plan, organize, and execute Reason Speakeasy and other events in the NYC area.
- Coordinate all logistical aspects, including securing venues, managing catering, and overseeing audiovisual needs.
- Track event budgets
- Identify and book talent, speakers, and entertainers for events.
- Ensure that talent requirements and contracts are fulfilled.
- Liaise with speakers to coordinate event schedules.
- Create and distribute event invitations, manage RSVPs, and track attendance.
- Maintain and update guest lists for events.
- Communicate event details to attendees.
Support for Fundraising Team:
- Collaborate with the fundraising team to organize events that align with fundraising objectives.
- Assist in soliciting event sponsorships and partnerships.
- Assist in booking talent for Reason interviews and other related tasks.
- Potentially manage events outside of NYC as the role expands.
Up to 25% travel may be required for events and conferences, but it is not mandatory.
- Passion for and alignment with Reason’s mission of promoting individual liberty and free markets.
- Proven experience in event management, preferably in a similar role.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing event needs and schedules.
