Rumor around Washington has Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) introducing a bill to stop the raid on social security later this week. The bills goals are simple: 1. provide a first step toward a permanent solution 2. forces Congress to recognize future obligations (“stops the raid” presumably on the “lockbox”) 3. gives workers a legal right to their account benefits (which, by the way, you are not entitled to now…thanks Supreme Court) 4. with ownership, retirement nest eggs can be passed on to family members Good luck Senator, we’re rooting for you!
