Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels offers the quote of the week in a Wall Street Journal interview with Kimberly Strassel in Saturday’s edition. Responding to a question by Strassel on how he turned the $700 million deficit he inherited into a $1 billion surplus over this first term, Gov. Daniels answered:
How? “Well, prepared to be dazzled,” he says, with his trademark dry wit. “The answer is that we spent less money than we took in.”
