No on Taxes, Yes on Spending?

It seems that some Republicans in the Virginia House of Delegates want the best of both worlds. While preaching smaller government and fighting a propsed $1 billion tax hike, a collection of about 50 House Republicans submitted individual budget amendments last month seeking a whopping $3.8 billion in added state spending! The delegates put in requests to fund pet projects at the same time many of them were giving Gov. Mark R. Warner tongue-lashings for trying to raise about a billion in new revenue through higher and restructured taxes.
