Jeff Greason
Jeff Greason is a commercial space entrepreneur, consultant, and innovator with 20 years of experience in all aspects of the commercial space transportation industry. He is the chief technical officer (CTO) of Electric Sky, chief executive officer (CEO) of Agile Aero, and chairman of the board of Tau Zero Foundation.
At Electric Sky, Greason has invented technologies for the transmission of wireless power and its use for propulsion and other purposes. At Agile Aero, he has led efforts to develop aerospace rapid-prototyping technologies and provides consulting services to commercial space companies. At the not-for-profit Tau Zero Foundation, he has identified high-leverage technologies for advanced space propulsion projects applicable to interstellar flight and laid out options to U.S. policymakers for launch strategies to enable affordable space endeavors such as boost-phase missile defense.
Greason was a founder of early commercial space company XCOR Aerospace and served as its CEO from 1999 to early 2015, after which he served as chief technologist until late 2015. He has contributed to spaceport licensing in multiple U.S. and global locations. Prior to XCOR, he led the engine development team at Rotary Rocket and an engineering team in computer processor development at Intel.
Greason has been active in developing the U.S. regulatory regime for commercial space for nearly 20 years, providing public comments on FAA regulations initially, then membership and leadership in COMSTAC, its working groups, and full committee.
