Last week, Reason’s Sam Staley debated sustainable transportation policy with Todd Litman of the Victoria Transportation Institute at Colby College’s Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement. Todd started out his presentation by asking the teenage and twenty-something audience to envision paradise, and whether they aspire to live in a suburb. Sam responded by saying he lives in the real world where trade offs have to be made, and a suburb is where he ended up.
