Raising taxes from the bench

The Nevada state Supreme Court just ruled to overturn a constitutional requirement for a 2/3 vote of the legislature to raise taxes. "The justices ruled that the need to fund public schools, another constitutional requirement, took precedence over the need to approve tax increases by a two-thirds supermajority."

In other words, the state justices agreed that there is no way the state could fund public schools except by raising taxes. Really? All other state spending is also mandated by the state constitution? No other place they could possibly cut?

What a crock.
