Privatize the Turnpike?

Acting Gov. Richard J. Codey is exploring the possibility of leasing state toll roads, such as the New Jersey Turnpike, to private companies to help plug a $4 billion budget deficit. Under such a deal, the state would get a one-time payment from a company, which would take over the operation and maintenance of the highway in exchange for keeping toll revenues.

Not much more to the story, but the rest of it is here (beware of a particularly annoying free registration process).
