Mortimer Zuckerman: Build Toll Roads

Mortimer Zuckerman, owner and publisher of the New York Daily News and editor-in-chie of U.S. News and World Report, came out strongly today on CNBC TV’s “Squawk on the Street” in favor of building a new infrastructure of toll roads to stimulate the economy. The economy is in a tremendously uncertain period, Zuckerman said, and an investment on the order of hundreds of billions of dollars in traditional infrastructure was needed. He argued these new roads should be built as toll roads, so they would not add to the deficit.

Look and listen to his interview on CNBC. The first five minutes are devoted to Mark Hurd’s resignation from HP and executive compensation. The toll road comments start at the six (6) minute mark.
