Cost of Government Day falls 26 days later than last year's date, and it's 23 days later than the previous all-time high of July 20, in 1982. There are numerous reasons for this explosive growth in government spending including TARP, the so-called Stimulus, and the big three auto "bailouts." If Congress and the President had not pushed for TARP, Americans would have celebrated COGD on July 25 rather than on August 12.

I just figured out that I work until the 3rd week of January to pay my health insurance bill for the year. But as Americans we work until the second week of August to pay for the government. Heard the presntation by Grover N's group at the National Press Club today. Regardless of your feelings on taxes, spending and the like it was an embarrassing pile of poorly reasoned, drivel that would get you laughed out of any reputable classroom at anty real university in the country.
