Reason Speakeasy: Nick Gillespie & Kaytlin Bailey
Reason’s Nick Gillespie interviews Kaytlin Bailey, the writer and performer of Whore’s Eye View
About this event
Join Reason Editor at Large Nick Gillespie for a live taping of The Reason Interview podcast on Thursday, December 1, at New York’s Blue Building theater.
Doors open at 6pm, interview starts at 7pm sharp, program ends at 8.30pm. Reception before and after.
The Reason Speakeasy is a monthly, unscripted conversation with outspoken defenders of free thinking and heterodoxy in an age of cancel culture and thought police.
Nick will interview Kaytlin Bailey, the founder of Old Pros, a sex worker rights group, host of The Oldest Profession Podcast, and the writer and performer of Whore’s Eye View, a one-woman show about 10,000 years of prostitution, female emancipation, and sexual freedom.
Hilarious, brilliant, and irreverent, Kaytlin is a leader in the growing movement to decriminalize and destigmatize sex work. She’ll talk about the legal and cultural battles facing sex workers while telling tales of liberated women from Jezebel to Mae West to Margot St. James, founder of COYOTE (Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics, one of the first modern sex worker rights groups).
It’s going to be a great evening of conversation and camaraderie. We’ll have beer, wine, soft drinks, and appetizers available before and after the event, so there will be plenty of time to talk about sex worker rights and anything else that’s on your mind.
