Worrying about the apocalypse is so last century. Join us as we celebrate Reason Science Correspondent Ronald Bailey’s new book, The End of Doom: Environmental Renewal in the 21st Century.

In his book, Bailey investigates the future of humanity and the global biosphere and-despite what you might expect-finds that the future is looking pretty darn good. Falling cancer rates in the United States, the likelihood of a declining global population by mid-century, and the abundant return of agricultural land to nature as farming becomes more efficient are just a few notable examples of the cheering trends described in this fascinating work. Bailey also definitively debunks some of the more dire predictions from the 20th century’s most prominent doomsayers.

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
