Socialism vs. Capitalism

On Sunday, April 18, Soho Forum Director Gene Epstein will take the live debate stage to argue against the resolution: Socialism is preferable to capitalism as an economic system that promotes freedom, equality, and prosperity.

Gene has previously defended capitalism against Bhaskar Sunkara, founding editor of Jacobin Magazine, and Richard Wolff, economics professor at The New School, and earned two resounding victories. His debate against Professor Wolff has since reached over 2 million views on YouTube.

Ben Burgis, philosophy professor at Georgia State University Perimeter College, will be the third socialist to step into the ring. Professor Burgis is a regular contributor to Jacobin Magazine and author of Give Them an Argument: Logic for the Left.
