There is overwhelming evidence that the criminal-justice system is racist.

Our planned debate on the presidential election has been postponed to Wednesday, July 22, so that we can join the urgent public discourse on the criminal justice system.

On Wednesday, June 24,
at 6:00 pm ET, Radley Balko will take the affirmative, and Rafael Mangual the negative, on the debate resolution, There is overwhelming evidence that the criminal-justice system is racist.

Radley Balko reports on criminal justice, the drug war, and civil liberties for the Washington Post. He was previously a senior editor for Reason magazine and is the author of books that include Rise of the Warrior Cop:The Militarization of America’s Police Forces.

Rafael Mangual is a deputy director of legal policy at the Manhattan Institute, where he writes on urban crime, jail violence, and criminal and civil justice reform. His work has been featured in outlets that include the Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, and the New York Post.

The debate will be live-streamed via Zoom to a limited audience, who will be able to write in questions during the debate that might be used during the Q&A segment.
