John P. Blair is a professor of economics at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio where he has taught since 1981. Dr. Blair is the author of numerous articles in leading academic journals and author/editor of several books, including Approaches to Economic Development (Sage Publications, 2000), Local Economic Development: Analysis and Practice (Sage, 1995), Manufacturing Development Policy and Economic Restructuring of Ohio (Wright State University Press, 1991), and Urban & Regional Economics (Richard Irwin, 1991). A former policy analyst for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, he is also an associate editor of Economic Development Quarterly, a journal "designed to bridge the gap between practitioners, academics and informed citizens in the field of economic development." Dr. Blair received his Ph.D. from West Virginia University, specializing in regional economics and public finance.
