North Carolina ranks 3rd in total highway disbursements, 34th in fatalities, 41st in deficient or functionally obsolete bridges and 42nd in urban Interstate congestion. North Carolina’s best rankings come in state-controlled highway miles (1st), total disbursements (3rd), maintenance disbursements (4th) and state highway agency miles (4th). North Carolina’s lowest rankings are in urban Interstate congestion (42nd), narrow rural lanes (41st) and deficient or functionally obsolete bridges (41st). North Carolina’s complete results:
