Like potato chip munchers, public officials get a taste for light rail and can’t stop at just one line. After all sorts of funding troubles, Seattle’s $2.4 billion monorail project is moving aheadââ?¬â??so is the Lays Effect: Even before a scooping machine dumped its honorary first load of dirt at the site of Sound Transit’s future light-rail maintenance base, elected officials at a groundbreaking ceremony signaled they will soon promote additional train lines.
