Lawsuit (Finally) Requires Online Access to CA Legislative Dbase

While CA laws and state legislator voting records have long been posted online, but in a byzantine fashion that makes figure out what all is happening and how any legislator is voting on issues very hard to figure out. Having 2000 bills a year doesn’t help, either.

Meanwhile the legislative counsel necessarily has a much more user friendly database that they have refused to make public. Now a successful lawsuit has forced them to make the information public.

A good day for sunshine in Sacramento.
