Orlando bails on free wireless downtown

The city of Orlando was paying $1800/month to provide free wireless internet access around the downtown area. But after months of only an average of 27 people/day using the system, they pulled the plug. There are a lot of other communities that need to heed this lesson. With the explosion of people having their own broadband access, and commercial hot spots, even a tourist mecca like Orlando doesn’t find much demand for taxpayer provided interenet access.
