I got mine, too bad about you!

A popular new way for the anti-growth folks to try to prevent people from developing their land is opposing water projects. They figure, no water, no growth. It’s a classic “I got mine, too bad for you” strategy. They have water to their houses, but if someone else wants to build on their land, no, no, no, we can’t have that. The government water agency is only going to be allowed to serve some of the people who pay for it! I’ve seen this as a core anti-growth strategy in San Diego and other places. To my joy, this venal strategy lost last week in Lake County, FL.
