Event - Radicals for Capitalism: The Enduring Power of Ayn Rand's Ideas
Location: 1747 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington DC, 20009
- November 2, 2009
Join Reason for a special evening of conversation, food, and drink on Monday, November 2nd, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. featuring Reason.tv's Nick Gillespie, Reason Senior Editor Katherine Mangu-Ward, Mercatus Center economist and Reason columnist Veronique de Rugy, and filmmaker Patrick Reasonover, who will show a trailer from the newly restored DVD of the 1942 film We the Living.
Reason.tv debuts an eight-part series that explores the influence and legacy of Ayn Rand in an era when free minds and free markets are under historic attack from the right and the left. Radicals for Capitalism includes videos on Rand's cultural cachet from Mad Men to The Simpsons; exclusive new interviews with Nathaniel Branden and Barbara Branden and the founders of Reason; and how entrepreneurs use Rand's work for inspiration.
Go to Reason.org/Rand for a special preview of the series, an archive of Reason writing on Ayn Rand (including reviews of the new books Ayn Rand and the World She Made and Goddess of the Right), and the chance to order a special Ayn Rand T-shirt.
Come to Reason's DC office for food, drink, a panel of speakers discussing the political and cultural relevance of Ayn Rand in the 21st century, and a screening of an exclusive trailer for the special edition We the Living film, recently released on DVD.
