Reason Foundation Analyst Shikha Dalmia Wins Int'l Policy Network's Bastiat Prize For Online Journalism!

We're very happy to announce that Shikha Dalmia, a senior policy analyst here at Reason Foundation, has won the first Bastiat Prize for Online Journalism, presented by the International Policy Network. In announcing the award, IPN's Julian Morris said, "Dalmia’s articles for Forbes.com are brilliant exercises in quiet persuasion, challenging preconceptions regarding the supposed benefits of government intervention." Read more here.

Dalmia is a frequent contributor to Reason magazine (she interviews pro-free-trade economist Jagdish Bhagwati in the new issue, on sale now). Her Forbes.com archive is here and her Reason archive is here.

Dalmia shares the award with Daniel Hannan, a British member of the European Parliament, a libertarian, and a vocal critic of government overreach.

Dalmia appeared in the Reason.tv video "Slumdog Thousandaire: What the celebrated movie can teach America about economic stimulus." Click below to watch.

Reason.tv's August interview with Daniel Hannan, which created international press, is below.

Very interesting article! Thanks! By the way, a lot of people are anxiously awaiting the Droid release date. No, this doesn't mean that the Star Wars films are coming true – so get off it already. The Droid release date is over the new, hot, smart phone from Verizon that's directly calling out Apple and the iPhone. The phone, manufactured by Motorola, has an ad campaign directly attacking the iPhone's faults with a cheeky commercial stating "iDon't" whatever the iPhone can't do. Granted, it was kind of clever, and it will work – as soon as the new hot phone comes out, Pavlov's Geeks start drooling. A lot of people will get a loan until payday to buy one once the Droid release date is announced.
