NRO symposium on financial services regulation

National Review OnLine recently sponsored a symposium of experts on what direction, if any, regulation of the U.S. financial services industry should take.

Our new president, Barack Obama, declared in his inaugural address, "That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood." If admitting we have a problem is the first step toward solving it, what should our second step be? National Review Online asked the experts what, if anything, we should be doing to buttress the financial system.

Experts include: Nicole Gelinas (City Journal), Larry Kudlow (CNBC), Donald Luskin (Trend Macrokytics LLC), David Smick (author, "The World is Curved"), Samuel Staley (Reason), and Robert Stein (First Trust Advisors).

Samuel Staley is Research Fellow
